The first flying cars are set to go on sale to the public as early as 2015. Terrafugia, based in Massachusetts, has announced its Transition design, which is part sedan, part private jet with two seats, four wheels and wings that fold up so it can be driven like a car, will be on sale in less than two years.

“We do want to create a flying car that can be used by a much broader segment of the population than just the pilot communities today,” said Terrafugia CEO Carl Dietrich.
If the project pushes through, the TF-X model by Terrafugia will have a range of 500 miles and a cruising speed of 200 miles per hour if the concept does push through.
