An engineer in United States Congress? Hmm...haven't heard of that before

Hi Friend,

Here is my plea. We are ready close the 2nd quarter today @ 9pm
Can you please make a contribution of $250 or $500 or $1000 to our campaign today before 9pm?

Please make sure you stay below the $2800/person Federal limit

Close friends have asked me this question "Rishi why are you running?"

And I speak with absolute authenticity when I say, "I am running as there is a deep joy that I have discovered when I am helping people. That is my purpose in life! Why do you think I am so happy doing what I am doing?"

The funds I seek for the campaign is obviously not for me.  That is why I ask!

I am asking for your participation to help a million people - especially the ones who are completely ignored by the powers that be. It is really very simple

Together, let us raise the karmic index and build a vision for the future of Silicon Valley.

When people look at this race I often hear, "Wow Rishi! You are brave".

Yes - that certainly stands for who I am, what I am doing on the Saratoga city council, and what I will do in United States Congress

Will I be beholden to Special Interest groups that trample upon American people, especially the ones that do not have a voice? There is a lot going on with that on both sides of the aisle

I am an engineer, a hi-tech executive, not a career politician!

I'm running to remove special interests from our democracy. That is why I have taken the pledge to refuse any special interest, lobbyist, and corporate donations.

Nearly $1.5 Billion was spent by special interests to influence our 2018 Congressional elections. What's more damning is that number does not include dark money by Super PACs. Our Democracy is Under the Influence of special interests, lobbyists, and big corporations.

Will our elected leader who accepts all this money be able to truly represent the people?

I doubt it. Or will they be beholden to these special interest groups? II believe they will

Will you donate $500 to bring change to our district?

My refusal to receive special interest money will make me beholden to the people of our districts, not those at the top. Together, we will fix the issues plaguing our nation, such as making healthcare affordable, preparing the next generation to succeed in a 21st Century economy, and finding solutions to our housing crisis and traffic congestion. How about a valley tech guy quadrupling the economy of our valley?

Tomorrow, the campaign will have to report our Q2 numbers. We were able to outraise our competitor with individual donors last quarter, but we know outside money and "special interest groups" will outmatch our efforts.

Can you please make a contribution of $250 or $500 or $1000 to our campaign today?

Thank you for all your support!

Closing Series A Round

Hi Friend,

Silicon Valley often calls geeks as the true rockstars; we value the power of innovation and great ideas.  I live and breathe the innovation agenda as a valley software executive and as an elected leader.

With Silicon Valley's work ethics, I have been wired for innovation and problem solving, to get things done in a "cheaper, faster and better" manner for my community.

That is my motivation in running for United States Congress from California's congressional district 18 - the heart of Silicon Valley.

Our campaign is getting very encouraging support as we go door-to-door with some very high-energy, enthusiastic volunteers who truly believe in the need  to define a  new vision for the future of Silicon Valley and for our country.

And...the nature of campaigns is they need funding. We did a decent "seed funding" round last quarter. We are closing out "Series A" on June 30th. We would love for you to participate.

Will you please make a campaign contribution today?   Contribute  https://secure.ngpvan.com/6ELUqYx5hUqc86o7GYoPEQ2

MORE ABOUT ME BELOW

As an elected leader, I have taken on the tough challenges of my community. My drive to deliver results to my community led to a dramatic re-election win last year. I was humbled to get the most votes in the past 60 years of Saratoga's election history, based on results we delivered.

Our Washington politicians are stuck in the past and are ill-prepared to discuss the challenges our working families face. From job displacements stemming from AI, automation and globalization, preparing our youth for jobs of the future, or figuring out how to combat the Bay Area's housing crisis. Net neutrality, which is the foundation of Silicon Valley's startup economy, is in jeopardy.

Do you remember watching the Pichai and Zuckerberg hearing? Can we do better?

As constituents, we are left hearing orchestrated soundbites and rhetoric with little being done to fix the issues on hand, while the lobbyists have a field day pushing their narrative upon American citizens.

Silicon Valley deserves leaders who have a substantive plan, and a strong vision for the challenges our people will face today, and in the future.  We need someone who will not bow down to these special interest groups, but bring citizen-centric values.

What value can someone with the mindset of "Getting Things Done" , of standing up for the people, and for their aspirations, one who understand tech intimately as a former IBMer and a current Silicon Valley hi-tech executive, deliver for the residents of Silicon Valley?

  • Can we leverage Silicon Valley's culture and innovation spirit to change the culture of Washington?
  • How can we quadruple the Silicon Valley economy via citizen-centric "quality of life" innovation?  How can we prevent the exodus of talent from the valley - a net 165 leaving every month in 2017, versus a net 2000 increasing every month in 2015?
  • Can we innovate to solve our top challenges and the economic health of Silicon Valley via a data-driven approach? How do we amplify and preserve our innovation legacy?

When elected to congress, I will bring Silicon Valley's culture of innovation to expand opportunities for every American – to using 21st century technology to combat climate change, to addressing the housing & transportation challenges my community faces with every passing year.

I vow to be an advocate for phenomenal Silicon Valley success; to do the right thing for our people, devoid of special interest groups.

Meet Rishi at our home and let us re-define a better future for Silicon Valley

Hi Friend,

Deepika and I are delighted to invite you to join us over hors d'oeuvre and wine evening to support our friend Rishi Kumar's run for U.S Congress from Congressional District 18. Rishi is a valley hi-tech executive currently serving his second term as Saratoga City's Councilmember and hugely successful in our community with a solid branding.

Why do I support Rishi? Reasons are plenty

·A hi-tech executive (proficient in software, net neutrality and heck even proficient in AI/ML technologies J) – like many of us. It's about time to have a high tech leader in Congress from Valley! I have had enough of career politicians. Rishi is there in public service for the right reason, operating with authenticity and integrity. I trust in Rishi to represent us well.

·Very personable and approachable. Rishi is the guy who rolls up his sleevs and puts in the time; organizes community events, runs youth empowerment programs such as Lego Robotics, entrepreneurship bootcamps for our children, etc. He was even on a California Department of Education panel that has defined a K-12 Computer Science curriculum that will create a computer science offering in every public school of California.

·Fights for ordinary resident's causes. For example, he single-handedly worked with California Public Utilities Commission to keep the water rates down for Saratoga and a million residents of the valley.  He single handedly launched innovative programs to bring Saratoga's burglaries down by 47%. Huge! Am I surprised that he has been recruited by so many other Silicon Valley cities to help drop their crime? This crime problem is a huge one impacting every city of Silicon Valley. Seemingly, Rishi is the only guy who got the gravity of the problem and worked hard to address it.

·Believes in getting the job done for us! No air, no fuss. A true people's person.

·Lastly, based on data I am confident that Rishi will win this run and will represent us well as the United State's 5th Indian American Congressman.

Rishi is running a good grassroots campaign, as he usually does and based on voter feedback is tracking well to become Silicon Valley's representative in United States Congress. Rishi is the exemplary community, tech and political leader we need representing Silicon Valley in Washington and we are going all out to support Rishi's run towards a strong win.

Please join us in supporting Rishi at a fundraiser we are hosting at our home on Sunday June 30th.

WHEN: Sunday, June 30th, 5pm-6:30pm

About Rishi Kumar

He is a bright, next-generation leader and a "rising star" in American politics. Rishi s a Silicon Valley hi-tech senior software executive, former IBMer, two-term Saratoga City Councilmember and has been an involved Silicon Valley community leader for more than a decade now, a strong political regional leader, and with a "Getting Things Done" platform delivered strong success on many fronts. Isn't it about time we got a hi-tech executive who understands tech intimately, leading SIlicon Valley in United States Congress?

Rishi will be a special addition to Congress - he lives and breathes the Silicon Valley Tech industry, bringing a strong nexus of tech, politics and community. As I mentioned before, I find Rishi very approachable and really connects well with people. He is there to serve and help people - that is his agenda!

As you know, Rishi got the most votes in Saratoga's election history last year. Rishi got it done for Saratoga! Rishi rallied the community to protest San Jose Water's rate increases, rolling out a water protest app as part of the innovative process , and many rate increase proposals were rejected, reduced or suspended benefiting a million people of Silicon Valley.  As Saratoga's councilmember, Rishi stemmed the tide on increasing burglaries by building awareness and establishing some interesting and innovative measures that dropped burglaries 47% - the largest drop compared to any other comparable Silicon Valley city.

Please join this fundraiser event to meet Rishi and discuss solutions to tackle our increasing burglaries, housing and traffic woes, along with other challenges such as burgeoning healthcare/drug prices, and a declining education system. There is a significant quality of life challenges that our citizens are facing centered around housing and transportation challenges. How can we together address the challenges of today's world, while building a better vision for tomorrow?

Bring your policy ideas, bring your children to get them inspired and bring your enthusiasm. Rishi deserves your support!

Looking forward to meeting you,

Regards,

Deepika & Ajay

Really? An elected leader that gets Silicon Valley innovation?

Hi Friend,

Living in Silicon Valley, we absolutely value the power of innovation and great ideas. Our district has thrived on our culture of innovation to impact the challenges of our time. I live and breathe these values as a valley software executive working for a big-data, analytics company.

As an elected leader, I have taken on the tough challenges of my community. My drive to deliver results to my community led to a dramatic re-election win last year. I was humbled to get the most votes in the past 60 years of Saratoga's election history, based on results we delivered.

With Silicon Valley's work ethics, I have been wired for innovation and problem solving, to get things done in a "cheaper, faster and better" manner for my community.

Yet, our Washington politicians are stuck in the past and are ill-prepared to discuss the challenges our working families face. From job displacements stemming from AI, automation and globalization, preparing our youth for jobs of the future, or figuring out how to combat the Bay Area's housing crisis. Net neutrality, which is the foundation of Silicon Valley's startup economy, is in jeopardy.

As constituents, we are left hearing orchestrated soundbites and rhetoric with little being done to fix the issues on hand, while the lobbyists have a field day pushing their narrative upon American citizens.

  • Can we innovate to solve our top challenges and the economic health of Silicon Valley via a data-driven approach? How do we amplify and preserve our innovation legacy?

Shall we define a  new vision for the future of Silicon Valley and for our country?

When elected to congress, I will bring Silicon Valley's culture of innovation to expand opportunities for every American – to using 21st century technology to combat climate change, to addressing the housing & transportation challenges my community faces with every passing year.
