Blackberry inspite of its short-comings does a few things really well - and after a good 8 years of the blackberry, it was hard to shake it off.
Here were some wantings I discovered
- Morning Alarm did not work. Alarms are independent of all sound settings and should work no matter what.
- Sent in a few incorrect text messages as the keyboard automatically selected words for me
- Screen not bright enough
- Music plays automagically, once you get in the car, and it connects to blue tooth.
- Blackberry x dialing does not work 888777777 x 82832938#
- Need to enter a password for voicemail and a *86
- Speaker phone did not work
- Slow, tried to stop dialing, it stops and dials something else
- Hated the Green Robot
(Summary - definitely a smart phone compared to the blackberry, but it does NOT do things that the blackberry does very efficiently - and these are basic things in my mind)

As it turns out, our corporate provider is now Verizon and we were mandated to switch phones.
The iPhones were in the mix, along with the blackberry, but I decided to opt for the HTC Droid Incredible 2 after some research.
Delivered on Friday...already loving it!
This one has the 1GHz Qualcomm processor (the same processor used in HTC ThunderBolt which is also giving the iPHONE 4 a run for its money, BTW the iphone4 processor is 800MHz), 4 inch super LCD display, 768MB RAM (compared to the iphone4 512MB), 8MP rear camera (compared to the iphone4 5MP) with dual Xenon flash to capture HD video at 720p.Other features include the regular 802.11g/n and Bluetooth 2.1. This one runs Android 2.2.1 and this particular model is intended for the global traveler, and come pre-loaded with a 16GB internal SD Card. Definitely weights lesser than my old Blackberry Torch, and just a tad below the iphone4.The screen features as super LCD screen in comparison to the regular LCD of the iphone4 that cracks upon a simple fall onto the (carpet?). The screen size is 4", bigger than the iphone4.

Quick summary "Security specialists say these programs are poisoning the Android market.
Be careful about downloading new apps, even from official sites. Check the consumer comments that are often listed alongside apps. Read the app's "permissions" to make sure they won't let it ring up charges or do other things you wouldn't want. Consider protecting your mobile device with security software from well-known providers. Don't "root" or "jailbreak" your devices to access apps on third-party sites. Such apps may contain malware and it may prevent your device from receiving important security updates"
So here goes ....
Top 10 reasons why I love my DROID INCREDIBLE 2
#10 The user interface is not cumbersome
#9 The password is a pattern design (much safer to use while driving - oxymoron of sorts)
#8 Videos / browser support is phenomenal (better than the iphone that still does not support Adobe Flash)
#7 3G Mobile hotspot - to use the phone as an accesspoint
#6 Tried watching Netflix, works like a charm (that was not an option with my Blackberry Torch)
#5 Lot more apps are available now, including many more games for the kids
#4 Has surround sound - makes watching videos a much more uplifting experience
#3 Love the 8MP stills and the 720p video. Time to chuck that compact camera
#2 Voice dialing works great
#1 And the #1 reason why this is a great phone - the phone calling feature works like a charm too, (unlike the iphone) , with crisp sound
And if you are complaining about the lack of SIRI(DEVI), wait for your (Personal) ASSISTANT from GOOGLE
The cons - comes preloaded with a lot of junk, that I need to delete.
Battery life is not as good.
The sounds quality is better than the Blackberry Torch, but not as good as its predecessor Blackberry BOLD. In fact, the phone service providers in the US have yet to offer HD voice which is a common feature in India, China etc. Come on US - gotta catch up now. Read about it here
And a word of caution - watch out for the malware that infects all open OS

Another word of caution, if you eventually sell these Android from McAfee identify theft expert Robert Sicilian: For smartphones running the Android system and computers running Windows XP, Siciliano said he recommends people don't sell them at all.
"Put it in the back of a closet, or put it in a vice and drill holes in the hard drive, or if you live in Texas take it out into a field and shoot it," he said. "You don't want to sell your identity for 50 bucks."
